Deadline Extended to 26th October

The Ethnic Minorities into Leadership Awards

The annual Ethnic Minorities into Leadership conference has established itself as a key personal development event for civil servants from ethnic minorities.

After many successful years of the conference, we are delighted to launch the first Ethnic Minorities into Leadership Awards to provide an opportunity for individuals and organisations to showcase the successes of colleagues and to recognise those who have gone out their way to champion inclusion within the Civil Service.

There will be awards given in 10 categories, including:

  • Line Manager of the Year
  • Mentor of the Year
  • Mental Health & Wellbeing Advocate of the Year
  • Ally of the Year
  • Race Network of the Year
  • Exceptional Programme of the Year
  • Emerging Leader of the Year
  • Inclusive Leadership of the Year
  • Corporate Delivery Solution of the Year
  • Ethnic Minority Leader of the Year

Why now?

For over a decade the Dods Events team has been delivering outstanding professional development events, designed to encourage those from ethnic minorities into leadership roles.

With many of those who attended earlier Ethnic Minority into Leadership conferences now holding senior leadership roles within the Civil Service, this seems the perfect time to recognise and reward those individuals and organisations who have dedicated their time and skills to encouraging diversity and inclusion within the Civil Service.

As well as recognising the many achievements in this sphere, the awards ceremony will offer opportunities for attendees to network with colleagues from across the Civil Service.

Who will attend?

The Ethnic Minorities into Leadership Awards will attract participants made up from:

  • Senior Civil Servants – who have decision-making authority and influence
  • Middle Managers – responsible for implementing policies/operations and initiatives within various departments across the Civil Service
  • Emerging leaders – high-potential individuals early in their careers who show promise for future leadership roles
  • Diversity and Inclusion Champions & HR Professionals – employees with a strong record in promoting race equality and diversity within the Civil Service.

The audiences will include attendees from major Government departments such as HMRC, DWP and DoE along with agencies, public bodies and the wider public sector organisations such as the NHS.

Ceremony Format

The ceremony will start at 4.00pm, immediately following the Ethnic Minorities into Leadership London conference, and will be conducted with networking drinks, canapes, and entertainment.

Venue

We are delighted to announce the Leadership Awards will be hosted at The De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms, located on Great Queen Street, just a short walk from both Covent Garden and Holborn in the West End of London. The Grade II-listed venue has a history dating back to 1775 and has long been an important events venue, having been home to the original Freemasons’ Tavern.

Address: 61-65 Great Queen St, London WC2B 5DA

Positive Action Statement
